I bet that last little slip about "Terrys Stands" has gotten some thinkin going on.

So Terry is Joining the Best Little Lease IN FLORIDA! Oh boy that is just too good to be true! or should I say something along the line of, "Oh Well there goes the neighborhood!"   :bigsmyl:

Nice job! That is a great hog! Those hogs sure are tough and a great hit might only leave a sparse blood trail. Nothing like the relief that comes over you when you find downed game you thought you might have lost. Congrats again on a nice hog!

Oak Grove....

The Black critter is an otter!!!  I watched two of them playing for an hour...they even went for a swim in the local hog waller.  That was worth the drive down right there!!!

Magnificent Oak......

Les ...hard to tell, if you had the four together I could probably pick it out. I'd say it was next to the biggest one. It was not the one with the big floppy ears.

The morning hunts for Terry and I had plenty of critter activity but the hogs seemed to be sleeping in or off playing some place else.

We would get to our stands in the morning about 45 minutes before light. My favorite time of day in a stand is when the woods are waking up.

At the hint of first light the birds would start to chirp. Then the owls started hooting, the cranes started sqwauking, the crows cawing. And yes an occasional gobble gobble from an Osceola long beard. My first morning on stand I had a nice longbeard just a few yards from my stand and he gobbled when the feeded went off. I nearly jumped out of my skin.

Lots and lots of different birds. Blue jays, woodpeckers, cardinals, robins, cranes and herons. A bird watchers paradise.

This good look'n buck was at full alert as he had heard some hogs squeeling off in the distance. How about that pose for a good shot

I saw deer on most all stands and there was a very high percentage of bucks. I saw well over 25 deer and only saw 2 does.

The deer were not much smaller than our Washington whitetails in body size but looking at pictures at Marty's we have much better antler growth. This would be a fun spot to deer hunt I'm sure.
