New bow
« on: February 28, 2010, 10:08:00 AM »
Well, first off I want to say thanks to Elmer Patton at Crow Creek bows. He as most of our bowyers are saints in putting up with picky customers like myself. I think I made 49 changes through this process.

I also would like to thank Mike at Rosewood archery products for picking out some of his very nice woods for this bow. I really enjoyed selecting my own woods from the source. This made the "Custom" experience that much more satisfying for me.

Well here it is in the building stages and the final product. Specs are 58" bow and 50# @ 28". Woods are Cocobolo riser w/gray actionwood flair with boo cored limbs and Tiger Myrtle lams. Kind of a crazy combo but I wanted something different in this one.

Thanks Elmer and Mike.

T.J.

Very unique combinations.  I like it a lot.  Got a pic of it strung?

Elknutz, its not actually here yet. I will post one when she arrives. The limbs are R/D which makes for some beautiful lines when strung.

Redboar, I actually bought one from the classifieds and shot it for a few weeks and loved it. I'm/was actually a recurve only guy so my 2 cents on a long bow is well...worth about 2 cents. But I liked the bow well enough to sell that one I bought second hand and order a new one with the woods I wanted. They are very smooth, quiet and stable. I actually shot my personal best round ever at a 3-D shoot with it.

Oh and this is Elmers Crow Creek Mag. He also has a Blackfeather. The two are very similar but this Mag has a shorter riser.

Very nice looking bow!

Pretty cool, you not only picked the wood combos but were able to actually select the specific pieces of wood used.

That one is a keeper !!!!!

Elmer Patton is one of the nicest guys that you will ever have the opportunity to work with. He also makes a very nice looking as well as a performing bow. My very first custom bow was one of his Blackfeathers........it's a keeper too.

I also like your choice of woods.
