My 6 year old has been shooting a Martin fiberglass longbow and I think he's ready to move into something a little more serious. As I look around, a lot of the youth stuff available is pretty expensive ($80+) and is not very convincing in terms of quality. Nothing from 3Rivers caught my attention and my local shops really only have the run-of-the-mill stuff, most of which includes wheels.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a reasonably priced (<$100) youth bow that is going to be good quality and preferably made in the U.S.? I only know of one bowyer off the top of my head that's making a youth bow right now.

Thanks.
Is it September yet?!

I would contact Crimson Mist (Mike Gibson) and see what he could do for you.

I agree with maddog.  Mike will make a great custom recurve or longbow for $95 with four wooden arrows spined for the bow.  My two boys each have one and love them

Got to go with Mike at maddog archery. Makes a great bow with the best customer service. He also gives away more stuff for kids than anyone I have ever seen. My daughter has one of his bows from a giveaway and when she is ready to upgrade i will be calling Mike.

Black Rhino is another great source for quality youth bows and stuff.

Oh yeah, my boy shoots one too.  He can shot an arrow and hit a target at 20 yards no problem with his pup.  He is a small 7 year old.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the suggestions I checked out the MadDog website and his bows look great. Thanks for the pictures, Katie. Those bows look like a lot of value for Under a $100.

John - I couldn't find any pricing info on the Herwaybow site. What am I looking at?

Thanks to all!

black rhino bows my son is going on his third bow from the, quality is the best, and if you keep it in decent shape you can trade it back in if you upgrade for a very fair price.

kevin done that one for Colby for $200 plus shipping.  but he wound up being in my area while traveling and delivered it in person. I paid him $225.  got to meet him and his wife...Great folks to deal with.
And since it is a td, Kevin said when Colby outgrew the limbs he could make a stronger set for it.  That bow should last Colby for years and he absolutely loves shooting it.

I think she would Spectre.  We need more young ladies with quality bows in their hands.
