I got my Tom this morning
« on: April 23, 2007, 09:35:00 AM »
I scored at 7:A.M this morning. 12 yard shot using my 60# Super Shrew with Carbonwoods and WW’s. I went to my spot Sunday morning to do some scouting. I saw 3 toms. I set up my blind and decoys at 5:30 A.M. this morning. I heard the first gobble at 6:10 A.M to the east of me. When it started getting light, I started see a bunch of deer. They busted me but ran back to the north. At 6:45 A.M. I heard a gobble to the southwest of me. I answered back with my box call then waited. Then I saw the tom come out of the pines and into the rye field. Almost at the same time a truck drove by and stopped. I think he saw my decoys so he turned around and left. The tom came struttin’ and gobblin’ across the field making a bee line toward my jake and hen. He got 12 yards from me and turn and I let him have it. He took of running and I tripped all over myself getting out of my blind to chase him. I got him about 60 yards away.

Pic is all black, lets see a pic of that turkey. I'd really like to connect on a Tom this year.
