5 New and Trad Shooters
« on: March 03, 2010, 01:01:00 AM »
Well gang,

I spent this last Saturday walking the Chinook Archers 3D Range and shooting on the bales with two lifelong buddies of mine.  I helped them for a while on their form and then took them twice around the 3D course and we had an absolute blast.  Glenn is shooting a takedown recurve I made in high school, Tim was shooting a D shape longbow and some arrows that Brock from Bull Mountain Archery loaned him until he can afford his own bow.  Brock is a great guy!

Anyways both of my buddies and Tims three boys are getting into shooting trad. I bought Adam t(4 year old) a glass Bear longbow and 6 arrows.  Aaron is 9, I am looking for a good kids longbow or recurve and some arrows to pick up for him.  Alex is 15 and couldn't pull the extra bow that Brock had for him to shoot, to much poundage.  I am looking for a good used bow in the 40 to 45 lbs at 28 inches for him. He draws 25 inches so a 45 lb bow will work well and as he grows a bit he will be able to pull it to full weight. Right now I am loaning them my daugthers bows when they are not shooting them.

With four kids Tim doesn't have a ton of cash so I am going to be picking up the equipment they need.  If anyone out there has some good used bows that their kids have outgrown, let me know.  I will be happy to pay for them.

Tim and Glenn both have enough property to shoot on and they are shooting every night, working on their form.  I need to get the two older boys out there shooting with their little brother and their dad.

My hunting camp just expanded by 2 or 3 hunters and another wife and two younger kids hanging in camp.  Nothing says good family fun like sharing hunting camp my buddies and their kids.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
