Ulu Knife Pic
« on: April 23, 2007, 04:31:00 PM »
Thought you folks would enjoy sharing a picture of my Ho'nehe Jeff Ulu knife, from New Zeland.  I was so fortunate as to win this one, of the two, in his recent, generous drawing. It is a beautifully crafted tool and will be cherished (I'm sure) long after we all are gone. The Handle is fashioned from the antler of a Fallow Deer. I thought it was kind of special also that, as I took the picture of this New Zeland knife, on the day it reached it's new home, that the American flag on my T-shirt (often on my T-shirts, in one form or another) was reflected in it's mirror finish blade. Needless to say I accepted that picture as a "keeper". Thank you so very much, friend Jeff.

(Oh - yes, it's verrrrry sharp - in case you were wondering - LOL.)

Thanks, guys. Normally when I saw I'd made "reflections" in a pic of this sort, I would retake - I decided not to in this case. It just seemed right, somehow.

The sheath is fine, Jeff. Nope, I didn't cut myself - I was fore-warned by you (and my dear departed Pop, when I was a little tyke - LOL). Thank you again Jeff, and for the kind words, but I think I am pretty honored in this case.

I like the addition of your Springer to your avatar, Jeff. Always have liked springers - and particularly the "liver" or "chocolate" color ones.
