Trad Gear--just got Easier
« on: April 23, 2007, 06:37:00 PM »
Well I guess I have too many hobbies.  So (pun intended) I just picked up this little gem to hopefully help me out.  A turn of the century Singer Harness/Shoe sewing machine...no motor all hand power.  It goes thru a stack of leather like butter  :)   Now lets see knife sheaths, quivers, arm guards...having fun.  Doc

I would need to get a leather belt to use the foot power.  Trouble is I can't seem to do two things at once (at least that's what my nurses keep telling me) so I'll just use the hand wheel for now.  Not as many moving parts to coordinate  :)   Doc

Jeff,  I had an opportunity for one of those cobbler machines just like that one about 3 years ago from a place on my truck route.

Would've made life so much easier...
but, you sorta got me back into my beadwork and quills   :)
