Shed Hunting...Stump Shooting...New Holm-Made Recurve
« on: March 07, 2010, 04:58:00 PM »
Danny Johnson and I went to do some hiking in the woods.  Still a lot of snow here(about 50 inches this winter), but we were able to do some hiking on the south slopes of the hills.  Below are some pictures from my camera but first I didnt have a memory card and then the batteries went dead.  Iowa isnt flat all over as these pictures will show.  I have only had my "River Runner" for about 2 weeks, but sure is a great shooting bow.  Enjoy the pics.  We found 2 sheds, but my camera died before the shed was found.  Danny will be adding pics later.

Looks like a great time!  It's interesting how closely Danny's hair matches the snow!

Yes Chris, the dog is a Weim and great companion named Shonka. Shonka, or Shunka, is Sioux Indian for Dog. I will be posting some pics of a very nice Shed Marc found on our shed hunt today in a bit. Be pics of the shed found, Shonka and Marc. Marc will be the one in the cream collered shirt.

1. Here is how the shed was as Marc found it before he pulled it out of the snow.

2. To give you an idea of the size of the shed Shonka is a 85lb Weimaranar.

3. The next two pics are of the shed alongside my 54 in Treadway Black Forest.

4. This last pic is of a proud Marc, Shonka and their shed. Marc has the orange hat on and is the one smiling.

Congratulations on your great find Marc.

Great looking pics!
I've got a Weim also....all she does is hang out with me or hold down the couch, she doesn't hunt.
She's a very good companion though, she'll go anywhere with me!

Looks like a lot of fun and what a great find    Heck of a shed. I would be right back there when the snow melts off some more.  :D
