After drooling over the pic of those grips I went up to the Tandy Leather store and picked up a few things........I think this oughtta be about all I need.  OH yeah, some real easy to follow directions would help about now.
What do ya's think?  Am I missing anything?

cotton gauze tape and hot water..check that material out ...put a little bug spray on it and see what happens...don't worry about lacing yet..cut over size and then form the grip..then trim...maybe just use some plain leather to learn with...think it out ...pretty bow there..

Can't wait for the pictorial. I really want to know what shape you cut the leather into in order to make it roll back and follow the throat of the grip without the leather wrinkling. I've been trying, but I can't do it   :banghead:

you just cut it oversize..like a rectangle...soak it in hot water a few minutes...then form it by wrapping it as tight as you can with cotton gauze...or start at the bottom and wrap it with string....then let dry completely....then trim to fit...

Do you have to use glue, or can you use double stick tape? What kind of glue, or what kind of tape?

What's barge Cement? Would it work on metal risers? Where can you get it?

I just put a leather grip on my recurve. It isn't near as good as any of Snakewood's, and one of the top sides kinda fell down during the glue drying process, so there are a few wrinkles in it. I am playing with the idea of trying to break the glue in that particular area and try to reglue it, but I don't know if I could or should. Help would be appreciated. Still, it feals really nice and I like the way it looks on the bow. It sure helps with the cold problem, the riser being made of metal. I havent' taken any pics yet, but I take them and email them to anyone who would post them for me. You'll probably just think, 'Wow, a butt ugly grip for a butt ugly riser,' but I kinda like it.

If you aren't happy with it take it off and start over or as you say just pull it off and try to smooth it out . I don't have any secrets for perfect results everytime. I have to start over sometimes. The thinner leather will go on easier also...or just send it to me and I'll do it...
