Benjy,
I decide to half them on insted of making a post insert.  Thought by drilling out the center of the cane, it might weaken it too much.

Also I'll grind out that alligator point this weekend   ;)  Doc

Finished the heads today...quenched, tempered and hit my desired weight (297 & 305 grains).  Ground a LW single bevel with a convex edge.  Pretty similar to Mr Big's 2009 broadhead that seemed to work just fine  :)

Plus forged up a No Frills Bear Skinner.  I wanted to see how quick I could make one start to finish...just under two hours.  Doc

Who'll be in week two? Had an email from a fellow Tradganger a while back but I can't find it now. He was looking to get some dialogue going between the week two guys. Can't wait to meet all of you on this great hunt. PM's welcome    :)

Who's in week two?? It really doesn't matter because after the A-Team leaves from week one there likely won't be any bears left for you guys! 8^) I'm just teasing because there are PLENTY of bears. In fact, I think week two does just as well as week one, if not better. Looking forward to this hunt again... BIG TIME!! UB

Dang Tippet!! That is some very, very, impressive work on your knives and BH's!
What did you use to attach your broadheads to those cain arrows??

UB>>>--------> You just keep spreading all those Chocolate Chip Cookies around the bait sites and my Bear will be big and fat by the time I get there!! :)

YellowDog, I will be there the second week! Shoot me a PM!!

Cracker: I don't actually use chocolate chip cookies, I use the chocolate chips/morsels themselves. Being brown they're tough to see in the dead leaves/spring debris so the bears need to scratch around and sniff them out. If you scatter them around the baitsite they'll spend hours searching them out. I used to use mini-marshmallows but their white color is too easy to find by the birds, etc. The bears suck them in like a vacuum-cleaner. The chocolate chips last a lot longer. bw

Thanks UB!! Very good suggestion!! I can see the BQV group now at the local grocery store buying up all the Chocolate Morsals they have in stock! Stork Clerk asked WHY? Cause we are making the worlds largest Chocolate Chip Bear Cookie!!!!    :bigsmyl:      :bigsmyl:      :bigsmyl:
