By the way, for those who think Quebec doesn't have big bears check out the thread and photo on TG of the excellent bear Ken Taylor killed last week. He shot it from a ground blind at 6 feet. If that won't get the heart pumping I don't know what will! BW

The "Marty Floating Anchor" technique was developed due to the environmental constants found in the swamps of Okeechobee. By Marty's own account he has been developing it for 20-25 years The Technique just now being recognized outside a very tiny circle of true admirers.

I have witnessed this technique bring home more bacon / venison then 5 other hunters combined using more accepted methods.

There are more people shooting "Marty's Floating Technique" then are willing to admit. Heck I have seen Guru, Terry, Ferrett, Elkken and Sunnyhill all try and emulate the "Marty Floating Anchor" while in camp. Even I have been know to use the "MFA" from time to time but have yet to master it.

The "MFA" is an advanced Trad Hunting Technique not to be tried by the faint of heart, or thin skinned. Use of "MFA" may lead to bad jokes/posts, twitters of giggles, or huge outbursts of laughter.

Best of Luck to you Marty. Bring me home a bear claw..not the kind you eat.

Had dinner last night at the Springer's with Tom Porter, Barry Wensel, George Galan, Marty McMahon, and Paul VImnotgoingtotrytospellhislastname. Great time and a great group of guys! (That Marty particularly is hysterical)! It was damn near physically painful to watch them head off without me this year (four years in a row I've been going!)   :banghead:   but I wouldn't have missed last night! I pray for everyone to have a safe trip and to shoot straight!

Hello second week Bear Questers.

I will be visiting you guys at camp for the week-end. I live in Montreal witch is 3 hours drive from La Tuque. I was there last year and got to meet many great people. I'll be at the pro shop on the 19th.

BC, that «Ay» stuff is for the R.O.C. (Rest Of Canada). You are coming to Québec now. You guys better brush up on your French now...   :D
