Me too Joe!  I haven't been seeing any but miss the sound of a gobble at close range.  I love how you can just feel it through your whole body.

Today I am a knucklehead...tomorrow will be a new day. 17 yards, loving up to my hen decoy, bow on hanger, pee bottle (and appendage) in hand. Silent demon, fleeting pic with hens is all I got  :)

This is what I should have done instead of whizzing.

Finally these girls showed up 5 minutes later without their man at 15 yards to rub it in. Thank God I have a month to torture myself and 3 states to do it in  ;)

Season up northern Il starts Monday. Weather warm-up should help put them in the mood. I need to break a 5-yr jinx!

Had a good afternoon on Friday.  Two Nebraska toms tried to destroy my jake decoy.  19 pounds and 21 pounds.

I have been a bowhunter for well over 50 years but because of work I was never able to hunt turkeys. That all changed when I retired and last year was the first for me. Getting no shot opportunities in 2009 did not dampen my enthusiasm.

Illinois has 4 short seasons and my tags were for the first one which started last Monday. I was unable to hunt Monday or Tuesday but went Wednesday morn. Lucked out and killed my first ever! 22 pounds and 12 ounces.

Whoa Way cool.  I have been seeing glimpses of birds while driving.  I saw a hen yesterday with ADK ken while we were just arriving to the mountain.

Tom number three this afternoon.  Nebraska allows three permits for the spring season.  Guess I will just have to be content with stump shooting now.  Had 4 jakes come in to my decoys.  This picture gives a little better view of my Rose Oak Creations Super Wildcat.

My 2010 opening day bird.  He responded nicely off roost and right into the deeks at 5 yards.

Before and after (a Snuffer) photos.   :)
