Break from the winter blues
« on: March 16, 2010, 04:23:00 PM »
Our local trad club got together for our yearly pheasant shoot recently. It felt great to finally get out and do some shooting. This year I tried to prepare some with a little practice.

I have a launcher with about a 5 foot long rail. Wide enough to launch one liter soda bottles in the air at different angles. You can set the launcher from about 30 degrees to 90 degrees. It has 5/8 surgical tube you pull back and latch to a release trigger. The bottles are stuffed full of Styrofoam pellets for weight. It slings them out real well.

After a couple days practice I was not good at hitting them but a lot better than I was from the beginning.

We all had a lot of fun shooting and joking around and was amazed we actually ended up with a lot of contacts.  Thought I would share a few photos. They are blurry from the moving targets but you can get the idea.

Hope these don't upset anybody.

This bird is in trouble!

I have to say up front only a couple were shot by me. The practice did pay off because even the one's I missed were very close to connecting.
