Turkeys in the field. Pics Added
« on: April 25, 2007, 10:28:00 AM »
Life just ain't fair!!! It is a beautiful sunny morning and I am sitting here in my office watching 3 toms strutting in the field about 80 yards away. I have a bow with me, but do not have permission to hunt there or i would be in the wood line right now.

They sure are pretty. SIGH!! Oh well it is nice watching them anyway.

Go knock on the landowners door and tell them that the turkeys are doing damage to his property and you wish to help him out!

I know the feeling Nakohe.  Here are some pictues I was lucky enought to get Saturday.  After hunting was over, my buddy and I were going into town and found these two toms 30 yards off of a main county road.  No permission and it was past 1 pm anyway.

I belly crawled to a little hump in the field to get close enough for a pic. The ground was low enough between me and the hump that they did not see me. They were more interested in the hens at the wood line than me. LOL. Now if someone had of had a camera taking a picture of this fat old man crawling through the grass, THAT would of been a funny sight.

All the guys on the rig sure got a kick out of it. Here is their boss sneaking up on some turkeys. I could hear them laughing where I was.

At least you got a beautiful desktop background picture.  It would make a great Thanksgiving theme card too.  I'd love a 1280x version!

Nakohe,

Let me guess. Was that picture taken with a Cannon Digital? It just something about the way Cannon produces all of those briliant colors that makes for fantastic pictures. So far it's the only camra on the market that I know of that make wildlife photos pop! Tell me I'm wrong and we now have yet another choice. Love the picture!!!

You are correct. Cannon digital 6.0 mega pixel with zoom. I love this camera it performs so well and colors just pop out as you say.

Just be thankful for an office that provides such a view, and enjoy it.. Most interesting thing I have seen out of my office window is a nest of doves.

That, my friends, is not a 'photo' or a 'pic' or even 'picture'.

It is a "PHOTOGRAPH" - and a spectacular one at that!

I'm guessing that you were facing West-North-West when you took that picture since it was morning and the light seems to be coming from low, behind you and slightly to your right.
