Shawn...that looks great!  I'd love to have one in my backyard just to keep the neighbors smiling!  They still can't figure out why a grown man still plays with bows and arrows everyday!   :biglaugh:

Z - the liner closes the gap and allow circulation between outer and inner skins, floor lays over bottom lip of liner to seal.

KW - I plan to haul it to Ohio where my sister the artist lives this summer for application of symbols and such.

I like the idea of a front holder for the tips off the front bumper.

Just finished rigging storage for the poles in my unheated shop. Will take it down later today after sun has completely dried the canvas.

A fire inside your tent, that thought just boggles the mind. Very cool Shaun, would really be cool to hang out with some bowhunters in that thing with the fire going for the evening.

Stepping out of a tipi early some morning, and going on a hunt with my bow is on my bucket list. Think about over time how many Great Plains mornings that was done. Sure would like to be part of that company some day ...

Definitely brings back fond memories.  I used one for several years to hunt out of until it got burned in a house fire.  I had a little sheepherder's stove with a short length of pipe that took the smoke part way up the height of the tipi.  Kept it quite warm and cozy in a couple of snow storms and some severe winter wind storms as well.  There is nothing better in a strong wind.  I hauled the poles on my pickup using a car-top type luggage rack bar over the cab and one of the canoe carrier racks that fits in the receiver hitch.  I think Cabela's sells them.
And in the end of our exploring we shall return to the place where we started and know that place for the first time.

Here's my Tipi at Mojam a couple of years ago.

There is something special about sitting around inside your Tipi with a nice fire going.  :campfire:

Here are a few painted up Tipi's for idea's Shaun.

Just replace the gun with a bow!!

Here's my Tipi again down in Oklahoma and it was pretty cold this weekend so I had a small fire going the whole time.

We had a bad storm blow up the first day with rain, hail and 70mph winds.

I stayed in mine through it all and could here alot of other tents ripping and blowing down but all the Tipi's stood up with no problems at all. The hail sure was loud smacking off my poles though  :D

Nice pictures Tracy. I remember your set up at MOJam - I had to have a look inside when I saw it. Believe I got some shafts and some backing strips from you that year. Thanks for the painting ideas too.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo jealous!

I want a big ol' tipi BAD!

I cannot convince the wife that we will not be bit by mosquitoes in there.  Anybody got any ammo for me there?

One of my favorite thing to do at Compton is to visit Whip and Smiley when they have the tipi along.
