Here is my suit so far. Last night if finished putting the netting on the jacket. I hope to put the jute on starting tonight. My question for those who have made them, with one inch netting, it says to put five threads of jute on every horizontal line, does that sound right? Also, I know I need to make big blotches of color, but how big is a big blotch?  I am not going to leave it this long, my goal is to go knee length.  Also, should I spray paint some tan on the jacket before I start with the jute to break up the black of the jacket?  I have a lot of hours in this and don't want to mess it up now.  Thanks for the help.

Big blotch = 6 inches or bigger. Bigger is better.
I haven't ever built one with netting, only burlap, but it looks like the cats meow to me. Just be sure to fill it all in.

I live in Cameron, which is south of Rice Lake 6 miles.

No Paint.  The smell lingers forever on the cloth.   The black underneath of the jute will give the suit depth, kinda like the black in an ASAT camo.   I tend to keep the burlap lighter than most to keep the bulk out of the suit.  Large blotches can be up to 12 inches wide / tall.  You want to make the blotches odd shapes and differing sizes.  This really breaks up your outline.

I started out with netting and quickly decided to get some old canvas clothes and sew the burlap on.  It seems to me that the netting would catch on everything.

I understand what yoiu are saying calgarychef, but the netting is tied to the jacket every 2" and the stuff hanging below the jacket is going to get trimmed so it is not over my knees.
