Ameristep hunting blind
« on: March 18, 2010, 01:02:00 PM »
Looking to get a new blind for turkey hunting and noticed Ameristep has one with low windows. The name is the crossbones and its designed for xbow hunters. Im thinking the low windows would be great for placing the decoy relatively close to the blind. Anybody seen this blind in person or used one? Would this be a benefit, or is the double bull windows low enough to not worry about it? Im using a 64" longbow.

I'm not a "deer" hunter, I'm a bow hunter that occasionally shoots a deer.

I think the low windows would be an advantage. But, with a 64" bow I'd be more concerned about the height of the blind. The only Ameristep I've ever used was the Bighouse. Still use it for turkeys. 6' square and 84" tall.

thanks for the reply. I have the brick house by Ameristep, but left it outside and 5 of the rods broke from the weight of the snow. They always seem to be "out of stock" on them, so Im looking for a new blind. My point is I have shot my longbow out of that blind with no height problems. I cant my bow pretty hard I guess.
