New Mohawk Shooting a Little Low
« on: March 21, 2010, 02:36:00 PM »

We've been having high 60's to low 70's weather wise. I figured I would send a few arrows to get ready for some gobblers. First 2 shots sitting  on a spackle bucket at 18 yards. That's the new Mohawk. Polish Ebony riser, actionboo cores and black glass. 64"s and 50#s @ 27"s. Arrows are 2 different POC's from a test kit from Suzanne St Charles.Ones 57#s the other is 63#s, 50 year growth nock tapered, 4 -4" feathers. This bow doesn't care it seems.

Man I love the looks of that Mohawk!!!  Vince must not have sighted it in before he shipped it.  Better send it to me so I can adjust the windage for you.   :D    ;)    Great shooting by the way!

Thanks everyone for the kind woods. Yes they are great shooting bows! Easiest to shoot bow I ever owned or shot! K.S. Trapper, you need to talk to Vince again. This was his first with Black Glass. He is now making them with Black, brown, or green. He is also offering a CLASSIC Model with those types of glass.

I will be giving him a call. Did he say if he was going to put any picks of the new bows on his Website?

I sure like his bows and can't wait to break mine in on a few turkeys in a couple of weeks.  :archer:

bentpole's new black 'hawk is a precursor of a new mohawk offering soon to be released - the mohawk classic.

this design will essentially be a typical mohawk, with trapped limbs and actionboo core and veneers, but under black glass (matte or gloss finish), but other glass colors will probably be offered such as brown and white.  the riser will be one piece of the hardwood of your choice, which will also be used for all overlays (modern string fiber approved).  the handle grip will be offered as hill-style, dished, or typical slim mohawk locator.  as with all mohawks, the braced mild r/d limbs will have the classic "D" shape.  with the hill-style handle, it will look just like a hill longbow, but ......

... the mohawk classic will have a significant performance boost over any hill-type longbow, while retaining all the stability, pointability and good shooting characteristics of that olde tyme longbow design we all love.
