Best Hunting Chair...HuntMore !!!!!!!!!
« on: March 23, 2010, 02:59:00 PM »
Guys:

I have seen numerous posts on here regarding hunting chairs.  I've am extemely avid, have been hunting for 35 years and want to go on record that the Huntmore is the best chair out there for hunting on the ground.  I have seen numerous posts and even commented that the $200 cost is prohibitive. I knew in my heart, it was the best but I didn't want to come off the hip and buy the chair...I bought it at the Deer and Turkey Show in Columbus!!!! I hunt exclusively from the ground and this chairs is the most comfortable chair made.  Do yourselfs a favor and buy one of these!!!!

If you need a testimonial e-mail me!

Thanks for the feedback.  How long does it take to set up and take down?
I walk a ways in how does it pack?
Thanks,
More bows than I should have!

I bought one at Kalamazoo. Great for big guys, easy on the knees too.
It doesn't pack well unless you take the time to disassemble it and put it back in the carry bag.

Best chair I've had so far! After spending 5 agonizing days in blinds in Utah last August, $200 is cheap. I would have paid $500 for it then 8-)

You can see my in-depth review on the HuntMore stool that I did over last archery season. I've posted it on this website under product reviews as well as The *********** and TBM's product review forum.

I was originally skeptical but have changed my mind. It's a great product and well worth the money.

Regarding how long it takes to set up, 2minutes max and regarding
the statement that it works great for big guys...I'm 6'3  250+ and it's the great thing going for comfort and consequently you are able to spend more time in your blind.  My son uses the chair when elk hunting...he love it.

I looked them over well at the Deer and Turkey Classic here in Illinois. Although much lighter than one would suspect, I thought they would be very cumbersome to pack in and out of the woods. Granted I only use a chair to hunt turkeys and had to consider the burden of packing a blind as well.

So, to those who own them, is the learning curve for breaking them down to transport pretty short?

I pack mine in broken down with frame & back attached to the bottom of my Badlands monster pack and the seat to one of the shoulder straps dangling behind me. As mentioned earlier it takes no more than 2 minutes to set up and will not make any noise when doing so as long as you don't bump the frame with a buckle. I'm 6'6" 280 and that's the reason I decided to get one I got tired of having my knees up by my ears when sitting on shorter seats.

Top shelf product nothing more I can say that has not been said.

As a ground hunter I do not think you can find better.

Best $$$ I have spent.

Heck a night out with my 2 brothers(They are self un-employed) will cost me more at the bar.

You are so right...these are the best chairs out there for hunting from a stationary position.

OK, I just unpacked mine and fought with it a bit to get it together--everything is pretty stiff.  I got it together (it's really pretty intuitive when you look at it.)  When I sit down on it and turn there is no noise at all from the hub, but when I shift position as you would lean forward to shoot, there is a very noticeable noise from the various components rubbing against the u anchors, etc. (sort of a groan for lack of a better word). A deer would certainly hear this in a quiet woods.  Is this normal?  Does it go away after you get things broken in?  I hear about some new clips that are supposed to make the set up quicker, but there were none with my new chair, so what gives with those?  It is comfortable, but right now the jury is out on how much I am going to like this expensive chair.  Helpful words of encouragement??

I too am wondering about the new type clips.  I bought one in 2009, heard that they would upgrade for free.  I left voice mail and sent email no response yet.  I hope I am not being ignored.

David,
When I got mine this past fall it too was a bit "Groany" but loosen the bolts a little like the directions explain and you should notice less noise...I would like to see what the new clip is suppose to look like if anyone has one...Mine has a strap that you pull through the U ring and just push this clip down and pull the webbed strap through..It has some sort of teeth that grabs the web to keep from slipping back out of the clip....I'm a bit slower then you guys putting mine together..Mine takes me about 5 min...I keep mine in my shop set up so I can take it out and practice in it...Remember it just ain't for hunting either, take it camping, fishing, watching fireworks, family reunions, weddings, church and funerals ...
