A good day shed hunting(Picks)
« on: March 23, 2010, 08:34:00 PM »
I just came off a long stretch of working nights and needed to get out and shoot my bow and maybe find some more sheds.

I hadn't made it 100yds from my truck at a new spot when I found my first of the day and a good one to.

Half mile later I see this    :(

I said it before but I hate finding the dead ones, At Least he's not chewed up to bad.

I have another rack that we found 10 years ago on a different spot 4 miles away that looks like his twin. I'm going to do a different thread with picks from both to see if you guys think there related.

More sheds to come!!

Nice finds. At least if you find the dead ones YOU can enjoy them instead of the mice and squirrels.

What bow are you shooting? Looks almost identical to my Morrison Cougar down to color, suregrip, and finger grooves.

Thats a Mohawk bow but I built up the handle and added the finger grooves to fit my hand. I can't hardly put the bow down I love it.

I topped a small rise a 100yds later and looked down and see this.

I rarely find them out in the open like this and the rack is over a year old and still in good shape.

I checked out a nice field were I found a rack before and the land owner had run a brush hog through and chewed up a small 5pt.

I can't find a fresh shed to save my butt Brett and Ben but my son is finding them like crazy     But thats ok I'm super happy with what I have been finding this year.

Pretty good day and I won't give up till I find a fresh one dang it.   :D

I'm not 100% sure but I think the two 4pt's are a matched set, They were a good 200yds apart.

Thanks for looking!!

Nice sheds Tracy. I haven't found any monsters yet but this is a start.

I don't like finding the skulls either. Not trying to steal space on your thread, just thought I'd share a few from south central KS.

Nice finds Tyler     I like shed hunting as much as mushroom hunting, You never know what your going to find   :D

It always makes me wonder what kills some of these bucks. I can only imagine it was fighting or hit by cars or maybe a lost kill from another hunter.   ;)

Post away guys, I love seeing everybody's finds.

It is amazing to me how many older buck sheds you guys are finding.

Why aren't these bucks dying from an arrow?
