poison arrow,
E6000 is an excellent silicon adhesive, however I don't think Willamette Valley, the manufacturer, intended it to be used as an arrow point glue. I have used it on all kinds of things rubber/neopreme with great success in many industrial applications. I also glued down a rubber pad to stop water from backing up on my carport almost 15 years ago. It is in the weather every day and has yet to fail. It works best when used as a contact type adhesive, applying to both surfaces letting it tack over then apply.
The thing about E6000 is it is a silicon and an adhesive. And it stretches 20 times its length. When it came out, they used a ribbon of the material to show how much it stretched without breaking. It will not get brittle so you may be on to something.
Keep us posted. This is an excellent idea. Do you shoot 3D? How does it work?
I know one of the chemist that works on the coatings side of the WV business, not the adhesive. He and his wife both shot competively, she actually was an excellent olympic style recurve shooter and was sponsored by Martin several years ago. I will send him an email as you have my curiousity raised.
