Hello everyone.
« on: March 29, 2010, 02:18:00 PM »
Greetings from NE Ohio, this is my first post and I just wanted to say hello.  The trad bug in a long bow form just bit me pretty hard this weekend after my hunting partner bought a new long bow and brought it over.  After only shooting it a hand full of times I was hooked.  So a few friends recommended I come over here to learn grow in my new venture.  My hunting partner bought a 69" 60lb long bow made for PSE by some guy whos last name is Hoyt.  It's a gorgeous bow and I was very surprised at how quiet and fast it was.  I was also surprised at how accurate I was with it from 15-20yds away.  So the quest begins on the learning of Trad archery and finding a bow like his for my own.  Great forum and look forward to my new learning adventures.

Like you I'm a newbie to traditional bows. Same introduction you got, now awaiting arrival of a Dwyer Dauntless he helped me buy on tradgang classifieds. Good luck with our new hobby.

Welcome aboard. This is a great place to learn about this addiction we call archery. Heck, it's a great place period. Now, as for finding bows, the classifieds on here are the best resource you can imagine. However, if you can get to some of the large shoots like the Compton rendezvous or Denton Hill, you can try a lot of different bows to find out what you like (this can save some $$). Aw who am I kidding, if your like most of us you'll end up with a bunch of bows just 'cause it's fun, anyway you slice it it's all good.

Welcome to the campfire! I'm from Cleveland, and my Parents live in Middlefield. Whereabouts in N.E. Ohio are ya? Too bad you live in such a rotten state for Deer Hunting. LOL! I'm hoping to get back there for some camp/hunting this fall, maybe down in Wayne.    :campfire:
