Carp are intelligent, carp are resourceful, carp are downright tricky. Some of the carp we have over here are well over seventy years of age. You don't get to be that age by being dumb...you go ask Bernie.    :bigsmyl:

Affectionately known as poor mans tuna, They are quite a regal fish, strong, handsome and willing to lay down their life for mans enjoyment. They are to our waterways what a vacuum cleaner is to our homes. Their willingness to get into traditional bow range makes them a favorite for the bow fisherman. I will add that after the hunt they make great table fare, a prized fish for smoking just hard to keep lit   :bigsmyl:

The lazy do not roast any game,
but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.

Carp
A fish I loved while growing up
The brightest gold inside a cup
Now a different love I have
I share with strangers, friends, and Dad
Arrow nocked my gaze cast down
Intent on waters murky found
I look for fins to betray
Their hidden form on sunlit day
And in reflections I do see
The heavens staring back at me
Alas I know it is Gods wish
For me to hunt this grand goldfish
      :bigsmyl:
I forgot to tell you how nice those quivers look.  They are really somthing!!  :clapper:

We just had an overflow on an island I have been hunting.  The water receeded this week and literaly hundredes of 1-10 pound carp are rotting.  I didn't know this until I was down wind.
The best thing I can say of carp is that they smell 100 times better alive then dead.  Also that they are a great fly attractant.
Good looking quiver anybody would be hapy to carry.

From Coast to Coast, both north and south.... how could so much beauty have such an oddly shaped mouth.

We love to hunt them, and eat them too.  In the stream or in the pan....a beautiful golden hue.

Regardless of how you extract them, from the lake or from the river, we all now know that they make a darn fine quiver.

That quiver really turned out cool. Did you use Fritz's build along plans for it?
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

I love to shoot carp with my bow, even learned the hard way to put an old piece of carpet on the deck of the boat. But, you ever hooked one on a fly rod? Man, ain't much out there that has more raw power. Wading around hunting for carp will teach you patience if your expecting much success. You get to knowing how the herons and storks must feel. Know a place where it's hard to lose an arrow. The bottom of the river is solid rock, they don't last long if shot at too steep of an angle. Possumtrot knows of where I speak if he's tried the Pecos, through Carlsbad. Shoot at where they ain't and make a good shot? That ain't normal but it works.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

If it wasn't for the carp we wouldn't have the Mc flay a fish sandwich. You just have to love those bottom feeders.

Nice quiver !!

Don,
Those are great looking quivers, buddy.
