Thought I would post some pictures of two Robin Hoods that I recently had.
They show us some things related to point weight that I never would have thought unless I saw it for myself.
Both of these arrows are full length Gold Tip Carbons 35/55.
The first Picture show's the difference in penetration of the same shaft.
This is a photo of a Robin Hood I made about two months ago.
It was made with a, Zipper SXT 51#@28" with 250 total grains up front. 50 grain insert and a 200 grain field point. Shot was 20 yards, at an indoor range.
This is a photo of a Robin Hood I made today.
It was made with a Crow Creek Black Feather 51#@27" with 175 total grains up front. 50 grain insert and a 125 grain field point. Shot was made at the same indoor range, at the same marked off and measured 20 yards.
I never would have thought less bow poundage, plus more weight would = so much better penetration.
