In-Laws out of control!
« on: April 16, 2010, 01:56:00 AM »
it looks like I am going to spend about a week in eastern San Diego County this summer on vacation, really against my will! Overbearing in-laws have got the wife insisting on spending time there. Not my idea of a good time. Any bowhunters in San Diego know how I can get away for a 3d shoot or maybe some coyote hunting? We are talking about the 2nd or 3rd week of August near Julian, CA. Help guys, this is going to be bad.

Don,

I graduated from Julian HS in 1966 and worked summers at Lake Henshaw. It's a beautiful area in spite of in-laws.

Suck it up, and quit whining. Give the wife her week.. It'll pay in the long run.

Earl E., Thank you for being a true friend to Magwa45 and telling him the truth!

We need folks like you who will tell us the truth and not just what we want to hear.

Plus it's really good advice! It can make a positive difference in your life, even the hunting portion.

It could be much worse, like in October or November.

I feel your pain.  There are some guys who hunt hogs down there look into a trip.  Plus there should be miles of stump shooting ( read dead cactus ) within driving distance.  I find that spending some time ( holidays ). Spend some time with the relatives and some away doing what you love.  It is a good comprimise and that is what being in a family is all about.

I'm with Earl E. and Mudd on this one it will pay dividends in the future. If you give it a chance with a positive attitude it might not be so bad.

Good advice from everyone!  My sister inlaw and her family live in San Diego.  My inlaws only live a couple ours from us in Kansas.  A couple of times the inlaws have paid for all of us to flyout and visit.

I always look forward to my one day of get away on the trip where the men all go on one of the big deep sea fishing boats.  Not to expensive and always catch some fish.  All tackle and bait provided.  Seems like it might have been in the 60 to 80 dollar range for a half day of fishing.
