Easton FMJ spine question
« on: April 20, 2010, 06:22:00 PM »
Hey y'all!
Need some advice. What spine would you recommend for Easton Full Metal jacket arrows?I shoot a 61# recurve with 100-125 gr. heads,28" draw length,so 29-30" shaft length.I've shot aluminum for years, so I don't really know whats best with these aluminum/carbon arrows.

Thanks,
Shane

The 400 spine will work very well for that poundage, arrow length & head wt. If you ever decide you want to use 175grn-200grn head wt. you would likely need the 340's--for now the 400 will fit the bill.

Elknut has it right.  400 spine should work great.  You might end up going to a bit heavier head if you find they are a bit stiff.

I shoot a 400 FMJ without a heavy insert and 125 grain tip in my 60# bow at 28".  If shooting a 340 shaft I can put in a 100 grain brass insert with a 125 grain point to shoot fine.  I think you really like the FMJ's when properly tuned.
