Can't wait till fall, looks like there is going to be some nice deer around. My lab Sage and I put on a lot of miles this spring with some good results. Here is a pic with us and our finds.

Wow that's quite the season! They look fairly bleached though, are they all from this year?

I don't know why they look so bleached in the pic. All but a few small ones are fresh and a couple of the big ones are very dark.

Wow one season! I'll be happy just to see that many bucks in my lifetime...Saw a post somewhere where this fella had his barn full from top to bottom and not a space to plant your feet anywhere...

Unbelievable good work. How many pairs of boots did you wear out?

That is just absolutely incredible! I'm seeing probably 50 matched sets alone. And a heck of a pile of singles. And the vast majority are from bucks that look like they were more than 1 1/2 years old. I'm trying to do the math in my head about how many older bucks per square mile might be in an area, (3 or 4 at the most?) and how many miles you must have covered to find them all.
Simply incredible!
Did you keep any records of miles walked and time spent? Square miles covered?
WOW!!

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

Thanks guys, my dog found around a 1/3 of them on her own. Shes only a year and 1/2 old so I'm still working with her. She dug a small one out from under about 6 inches of snow. I walked on average about 10 miles each time out. It was mostly over the same gound though, the deer were really bunched up because of our bad winter.
