LS Slammer by Leon Stewart - first longbow
« on: April 29, 2010, 01:18:00 PM »
I just received my first longbow in the mail last week and thought I'd share some pictures. It is an LS Slammer by  Leon Stewart , shoots great but I need some practice.  It is 60" and 46# @ 28" macassar ebony and curly maple.

I've got a 64" Slammer that's 48# at 28, but it isn't near as pretty as yours is.  Nice bow!  The Slammer is the only longbow that I can shoot well.  I'm going to look over Leon's recurves carefully at the Baltimore shoot next month.  I just might have to pick one up.

Those Slammers sure are nice.  They're even nicer when you have one in your hand!

Leon makes a great bow. Your's is a beauty. I've shot a couple of them. Matter of fact he was at the Whittingham Traditional Shoot last week in Jersey. I shot a new Slammer. Good Luck with it. Like pdk25 said give it some time. It will serve you well.

That is a real nice slammer. I have owned some real nice longbows and the slammer is my go to bow and one that stays with me.  This new LS Slammer in 58 or 60 inches  will shoot with the best.  Enjoy.

You certainly made a good choice! Leon's bows shoot with the best of the best. I bought one last year, and have shot plenty of them. If I were the one-bow type of gal, I would be hard-pressed to buy any other. They are smooth, forgiving, hard-hitting bows. Stable and sensible, solid and beautiful. I have shot some of my best shots out of a Slammer.
