for years my main bow was a 60" 63# @29 Black Widow SA II, and my back up was a 60" 65@28 Bear TD Hunter.  My draw is 29".  This winter, I bought the new PCH 58" 57@29, and a used PSR '97 56" 58#@29 as my back up.

This week my main hunting bow will be my Fox Breed 58" and 48# @ 28" with POC arrows.  My back-up will my my longtime Massie Longhorn 62" and 48# @ 28" also with POC arrows.  I say "this week" because my bow selections are always subject to change on a daily basis.

It is a toss up right now. I built a recurve that I shoot really well. But the 55#@28" Blacktail recurve has always been my "go to" bow! But then the new Fox "Royal Crown" R/D is shooting good too.....decisions, decisions?!!!

Hunting bow - 55 lb at 28 inch, 68 inch long -  Wes Wallace Royal take down.  Dark Cocabolo riser, with walnut and cocabolo split veneers.

My back bow is almost completed. I will be picking it up at the Western States Rondevous.

#1 is a 64" 60# Blacktail Elite

#2 is a 64" 62# Brackenbury Drifter

I shoot the same arrows out of both bows, but I shoot the Blacktail much better!

When I'm shooting recurves it is my 55lb palmer single carbon with my predator recurve as my backup bow. When shooting longbows it is my matlock predator x3 with a matlock predator X as my backup.

I'd rather hold a recurve than shoot a compound

Great stuff everybody!I see it's pretty close with some having identical backups and some having different bows. For those of you with different bows can you pick up your backup and shoot it as good as your main bow?
