I've got a lot of #1's...

Three Shawnee Dakotas, all A risers, two with foam core Dakotas in E length (60# and 64# @ 29"), and one Carbon Foam also in E length (63# @ 29".  And if I had to pick a true #1 it would be one of these...

But I also have another Shawnee that has D length Arapaho foam core limbs (55# @ 29"), Two 60" Cougars (73# and 74# @ 29"), a 60" Silvertip (62# @ 30"), a Thunderstick MOAB in 60" (68# @ 29"), another 62" Cougar (55# @ 29"), and recently picked up a 62" Black Swan 3-piece Hybrid (68# @ 29").  Any one of them could make a trip to the woods on a whim, and any one of them could be a #1 if push came to shove.

Luckily I don't have to decide on just two bows.  They all have their pluses and minuses...

Main bow is a 61' Brown Recluse, 54@28. Have an extra set of limbs that make a 59" bow but I shoot the 61" a little better.

Back up is a 52@28 Hitman longbow.

I shoot the same arrow out of all the above.

Swan coming in June and I'm not sure where thats going to fit in, but probably the new #1.

Currently my main bow is my 60" 60# @ 27" Blacktail Elite with my 58" 60# @ 28" Hoty Hunt Master as my backup.  When I get my new Blacktail later this year, that'll become the primary and the other two will get pushed back a slot.

I've found over the years that shooting one model of bow helps me maintain better accuracy.

I have a 3 Widow SA models that I switch back and forth from.  One is mostly for 3D's as it's a tad lighter than the other two.

Between myself, my son, and my son-in-law, we have 5 Wes Wallace 2 pc take down longbows. (Have 2 more in the works too!) All are 55# @ 27"...we can all shoot each other's bow as well as each other's arrows (and if necessary swap strings). Something to consider if you are on a remote hunt for 2 weeks.

Good to know that everyone feels the need for a backup bow even if you never actually need one

Good to know everyone else feels the need for a back up bow! My primary is my Lost Creek. My back up will also be a LC, different woods, same length, same DW.

It keeps changing I have no idea what those bows are or will be.....I really gotta just pick one and get good with it!

Right now though my main bow is a Toelke Chinook...I have a few backups on the way, and who knows they may end up being my primary...  :knothead:    :banghead:
