Like Marty said, that cover was one of my more brilliant ideas. I actually thought of it in a dream one night and sat straight up in the bed about 3 AM. A patriotic fist over a patriotic background would be fine on the shelf. But when you added the complimentary bookmark the message was coincidenatlly complete. My wife says I should use my genius mind towards other things. Ha. BW

Barry, the bookmark was also a stroke of marketing genius. The part below the finger had the information for ordering another copy of the book. Your inscription in my autographed copy says "Don't believe everything you read!" Clint

Hank tossing saccharin tablets would have been a hoot.
BTW, recently watched the History/Discovery channel's special about "Hillbillys" and it claimed the original term "Redneck" came form old school WV coal miners wearing red neck bandanas taking up arms and marching against the law and company store.

I've got a copy way the heck up here in Northern Quebec.
In the early nineties sometime I was invited to a deer camp in Virginia by someone I had met through my guiding. Turns out that Barry and/or Gene had just left the day before and the lodge Manager had a copy of the book for me.
I think that was my last trip to Virginia...and that book is a great souvenir!

I would love to read anything these guys have wrote. I have seen their movie "Primal Dreams" but have never had a chance to read anything that they have written. When I was a lil' shaver my dad took us to the Michigan Bowhunter's Rendezvous every summer and the brothers were there doing a seminar but the only thing I remember about it was something about "you should not ever throw a black bear carcass off of a bridge that is under construction" or something like that. Where is the best place to look for their fine works anyways?

All of their books that are still in print can be purchased from their website at
www.brothersofthebow.com.
For those that are out-of-print, you can check on amazon.com or the big auction site. Be prepared, though, as the prices are a little steep.

The book would have more appeal to the Redneck crowd if it was done in comics or as a coloring book.

A great book, glad to have an original copy signed circa 1992. Bookmark still in pristine shape as well.

Well, my 'bookmark' is missing. Can't imagine that 'I' could/would ever misplace anything . . .

Got the book signed in 93 at my first encounter with the Ramblin' Rednecks at the Cloverdale shoot. That encounter made a lasting impression on me and changed my life forever. :D

OK I think I heard the molar story before (I think) from someone who was there (I think)...it was texas on the King ranch and some dude pulled his molar while a truckload of redneck folk admired his extraction skills (I think)...but I gotta have this book now

wapiti792 Yes the guy pulled his molar with a leatherman. Gene has it on the display shelf in his house. I saw it the last time I was over there. Ha! Mike
