Norwegian Woods - Pics
« on: May 06, 2010, 06:27:00 PM »
So the snow has finally let go of its grasp!
Once a month our faithful gang of trad bowmen meet up for a "barnshoot"
Today was our first outdoor session, with testing of a field for distance shooting,
as well as a few 3d targets. Soon we will make the range bigger than the 9 current targets ^^
I was cameraman for the day, since my doctor forbid me to shoot for a while again.. Dang tendons ^^

Pic of our lovely outdoors! On the way to the field for distance shooting!

Unfortunately Kim broke his bow on the first draw, 1 second before my camera was ready     :p

Testing the distance range. We could not max it..

Also horsebowmen with pipes are welcome ^^

Our local bowtree. Seems infested with Dryads ^^

After walking up and down the range a few times we got tired (except the dog) and headed to the 3d range

Then, the small 3d range!
We will be adding more later, but have to organize and repair some of the targets first!

Nils, gratious host, drawing first foam^^

Some more shooting

Poor owl, but it was only 12-15 yds away..

Some ground shooting!

Always bring gifts for the local animals who watch over the place as humans are absent ^^

Finishing off the evening around the fire with some coffe and cake! Me to the far right.

Thank you Nils, his wife & Nidaros Handbuelag for a great eveing, and thanks to TG for giving me a place to share!

Thank you for the chance to travel with you through
what looks like a great time. If a picture is worth a thousand words, that story was 12000 wonderfully informative words long.   :bigsmyl:

Værsågod! (you're welcome)
The Dryad Hunter on the left is an old Osage/Cocobolo/Dirty Boo belonging to our gratious host, Nils. I believe it to be a kit bow, around 45@28 and 62 or 64". Very smooth draw!

Well, it might be close by then! We are on a farm just outside of Trondheim. Cities in Norway are not big, so if you find yourself on your way over, you are more than welcome to fling arrows with us!
