Group for Texas Hunt
« on: May 10, 2010, 09:46:00 PM »
Any of you that want in on this need to get with me soon so we can get the deposits in and take care of business ASAP.
Mike

I am getting up a hunt for four or five to go with me to Texas this fall. I am looking at doing a hunt in Oct and another in Jan. Dates are not for sure yet. I have hunted this ranch before and its a great place to take a deer, hogs and turkey.
The hunts will be 5 days all food provided and a camp cook and game care for 1800.00 each. This ranch is low fence and has great deer numbers, the best I saw last year was in the 130's. You will be able to take one buck, one doe and turkey in season as well as all the hogs you can get. The area is South West Texas about 50 miles from Del Rio.
For more info contact me and I will fill you in and give you the ranch contact.

Normal season closes around the first week of January for bucks. If the ranch has MLD permits (Managed lands deer) then their season goes till the end of Feb. Turkeys will close first week of Jan.

Looking at the first of Jan. and this ranch is in the Managed Land program and has its own tags for the deer. There are not all that many turkey on this ranch but plenty of deer and hogs. I was there the middle of April turkey hunting and saw a hog that was 400+. It rained the whole week so turkey hunting was rough but the deer were still there.

Mike,

Keep me posted. As long as it is after the TG Solana Ranch hunt I may be able to do it. I will be in Texas until the 15th of Jan. and if I am not tagged out by then would love to do this hunt.

Mike I've been to Hondo TX on a similar hunt. Great area. We have plenty of deer here to hunt. If I go I'd just go for hogs. Would the price drop for an all hog hunt?

Thanks T.J.

Danny, the deer tags you get with your Texas License are not used on that ranch, it has its own tags that the deer taken on it are tagged with.
TJ would be a great place to hog hunt, I can get you with the land owner and see what he will do on that, would love to have you.
