Brothers this yr will be my first ELK hunt. I have three different broad heads in my supply. Which one would be the best choice? I have woodman’s, snuffer’s, Magnus 1- 4 blade. I'm shooting a 56@28 bob lee recurve. Thanks

For me it is heavy and razor sharp the matters. I like the Grizzly El Grandes myself. Elk bone is tough. Any good head will work when shot into the boiler room. Shoot outside of it and penetration becomes a serious consideration.

Of the three, I'd likely shoot the Woodsman with some added weight up front, but you will do fine with any of them. Arrow flight, shot placement and sharpness are the keys.

I shot my last bull with a Woodsman. I did up the weight to 150 gr with a little lead. Full penetration, and I watched him drop. He made it 45 yards.
Out of the three choices, I would choose the Woodsman or Magnus. Snuffer may be a little wide for 56#?
Have a great hunt.

Everyone has an opinion
I have used snuffers and Zwickey 4-blade and generally use the Zwickeys as my stand-by broadhead. Basically the same as those magnus. I modify the tip so that it's more of a chisel as opposed to a needle point. This prevents the heads from sticking if they hit hard bone. All will work, I just really like how the Zwickey/Magnus fly for me.
I've also used the Stinger 4-blade and that's a great Magnus product as well. I've had good penetration through a rib with a stinger.
Congrats on your first elk hunt! It won't be your last.

Woodsman or magnus. No matter which one get them sharp and they will do the trick.

I'd use the Magnus I and leave the inserts home. I've gone through two elk scapulas with a two blade zwickey. Not on purpose. Sometimes they move. Hit it in the ribs and any of those will work. Gary

If I get the chance I'm going to try Abowyer Brown bears. Mr. Elk just has to cooperate
