What is the difference in the Royal Crown and the Triple Crown? Is the Triple a 3 piece? So, do you guys feel he makes the best one piece reflex/deflex that you have shot? They sure look beautiful. I love the lines.

Snag the Tripple crown is a 1 piece. It comes in longer lengths I believe than the royal crown.a great choice for the 3-D shooter and would make a fine hunting bow as well.I believe the grip style and riser are similar.I have not seen the royal crown so i cant comment on the specific differences like limb length and riser length and limb design.Someone will chime in on those particulars hopefully. The Tripple Crown does have a fairly long riser and good mass as well.Somewhat narrow limbs and tapered with small tips.A descent amount of reflex that gives it good cast. The shelf is cut to about center.Shelf is highly crowned and grip is sculpted nicely for an ergonomic feel. With thumb groove and slight palm swell.I would say the grip is medium low.Its a well thought out design and legal for the longbow division in IBO shoots and IFAA I belive.I am sure it will find its niche among guys who prefer this style of bow.

Ron really needs to do a better job of keeping his web site up to date with new offerings, show dates, and just over all better pics that do justice to his quality work. His listed show dates were 2 years old not that long ago. You wouldn't even know he offers the Triple/Royal Crown unless you stumble onto threads like this.
In todays world, being able to just pop onto a web site and see some high quality representative photos of a bowyers work is a big plus.
But I guess if you already have all the business you can handle??

The Royal Crown is in the Archery Shop.  I just talked to Budro.  I've always told him that when a bow comes in, if you have time, open it up, string it and shoot it.

To quote Budro, he said "It is the best shooting longbow I've ever shot, period.  If you ever want to sell it, I'll buy it."

Mind you I've owned some very nice and top end longbows over the past 7 years.  Budro has shot every one of them.  So, he's comparing the Royal Crown to quite a list of top name longbows.

I hope that the short "62" works for your hand problems. See you tomorrow afternoon?

Bob,

If it doesn't, maybe the 64" Border Harrier I have on order will.  I couldn't get anyone to bite on the HexV-H limbs I had on order, so I contacted Sid at Border and changed the order to a Harrier GL longbow.

I had no idea he even made such a bow. I do love the lines, what a looker. That Royal Crown would be a sweet bow with a bow bolt, wouldn't it Whip?

I was very impressed with his 3pc recurve that I shot when he was at the TN championship a few years ago. Very well built bows and the ones I shot were very smooth and stable.

I'm chomping at the bit until Ron has a takedown version of this bow!  I swore off of buying new bows for a while, but this one is going to be an exception to my policy.

I have always liked the High Siera he makes, but this LB is real sharp. I'll have to keep an eye open for when Bill lists it. lol

The pics below were taken of my Fox Royal Crown longbow by Alex Sunday night when he got home from the Twin Oaks shoot.  I'll be taking more and posting them, probably on Monday.

stabow,

There's no doubt about that.  I did something with it today I've never done before.  I got a robin hood with a wood arrow.  They did remain stuck together, but the nock on the arrow in the target was broken and the back 6" of the arrow was split down the center.  Mind you it was at 10 yards, but it was still a tight grouping bow.

OK Bill, I can tell right now that bow is going to get way to expensive to shoot if you keep wrecking arrows like that.  Better just put it up for sale right now and save yourself some money.  Let me know how much you want.  ;)

Whip,

It's really kind of you to look out for me like that.  But if they bow continues shooting that well, I guess I'll just have to bare the added expense of additional wood arrows!    ;)    :D

Frank,

You haven't noticed I've changed my name back to WildmanSC.  Reality is a hard lesson learned sometimes!    :banghead:
