new tips for old bow

Anyone here redo the tips on your older Damon Howatt or other older bows to shoot D-97,TS-1 etc. Ive got a couple bows that shoot good but probably would shoot alot better with one of these, been thinking of trying it w/heavily padded loops w/o redoing the tips, dont have alot in the bows but like shooting them...anyone w/experience with this?

Just my two cents...don't try the "overpadded" method without wearing a helmet!
Replacing the tip material with phenolic should work though, but some of the older bows may still not like that abrupt "stop" from the ff material...
Good luck with it,
Marc
