I can't say much about blood trails but I'm using the 175gr. phat head and am very impressed with how sharp they are out of the package and how easy they are to resharpen. they do require a tool to remove the blades; it is sold with the replacement blades or you can use a set of nocking pliers like I did.

I shot the 200 gr. 4 blade last year. It's a very strong head, flies like a dart and is easy to sharpen with my KME. I killed 3 does and had good blood trails (2 died in sight) My only complaints are some of the blades were loose fitting in the ferules and only having a 1 in. cut.
