anybody shooting a Striker "Stinger" model?
« on: May 17, 2010, 10:14:00 PM »
Looking for opinions on the Striker "Stinger" (handle forward model)? I shot the 58" model 50@28 over the weekend. Considering the 62" model 52@28. If you have one how do you like it, what length and weight do have? Also what arrow, (lenght and point weight) are you shooting from your set up?

I have the Slapstik from Rick. 56" 50# @28. I know it's not the stinger but a great bow! It zips one out and I'm shooting a 620 grain arrow 29.5" tapered douglas fir with 200 grains up front.

I shot the Stinger at Ricks shop and it shoots just as good if not a little zippier. I don't think you will go wrong getting one. Rick is a top notch guy and builds a super nice bow that shoots and performs as well or better than alot of them if you do your part.

I was border line on wether I wanted a stinger or the slapstik and ended up going with the slapstik because I liked the profile a little better. Honestly I wanted one of each but I couldn't afford it at the time.

My next Stiker is ordered now and will be the one piece recurve and after that I will probably get a Stinger next year. Eventually I will have one of every model of Ricks bows.

I have one and I Love it. Mine is 58" and 50#@28". I shoot wood arrows with this bow because it is what feels good out of this bow, carbon shoot just as great, I just wanted to shoot wood more than carbon(cheaper  too). I also have the boo limbs too, after test shooting some of Ricks bows I wanted the boo upgrade.

With the woodies I get about 185-195 fps, with a arrow weight of around 490(I think, change point weight since the last time I weighted them.)

This stringer was my first custom longbow, I love this bow. I sat down with Rick at a show and he took the time to go over everything. I expressed what I was looking for and he gave me his opinion on things and let me pick what I wanted.

I am so happy with everything that I will order another bow in the future, a TD longbow.

BTW, I'm glad I had Rick put my name on the bow too, now I will have a hard time of ever getting rid of it, not that I ever will now that I have shot it for 2 years.

It has become my "go to bow", even before my compounds.

ilarher,

I got the boo lams on my bow too, definetly recommend the boo limbcores.

Rick is a standup guy for sure, the customer service is second to none.
