tradganger of the year contest
« on: May 18, 2010, 01:46:00 PM »
i have a dream.in my dream all people are equal.all people are kind and helpfull to one another, all people go out of there way to help someone in need.then i woke up and realized the only place i have ever seen people act this way is here on tradgang.i propose this to you.THE FIRST ANNUAL TRADGANGER OF THE YEAR CONTEST.we need a trophy built by someone,a trophy to be cherished by the holder for an entire year.to be passed like the olympic torch at the end of each year.all entries will be from voting by you.i exclude myself from this because its my idea.we will take nominations for the entire year then tally up the votes.we need a couple people to help with this as i wont be doing this by myself.lets hear what you think    :archer2:

Have you considered haveing a time frame for nominations then taking the top three or four nominees and putting them in a poll and vote on the top 3 or 4.

 Just an Idea.

There are many who could be in the running for sure.

mabye instead of a trophy some type of pouch or something that they can use throughout the hunting season, mabye it will bring them luck??  Just a thought, then it can be passed as you suggested!

Too many good people for me to choose one, both of the fine guys suggested already were on my mind!  I will just have to wait until it gets to the poll!

Papa Bear.  I will offer up a presentation level tomahawk with Trad Ganger of the Year etched into the blade as the trophy.  I am sure we can get one of the fine leatherworkers on here to step up and offer up a fancy sheath to go with it.

For me there's just too many good folks around here to say one is tops.

I'd be honored to help out with the leatherwork, if the idea is chosen.

I would have to agree with Snag. How could we possibly pick a tradganger of the year when someone steps up to the plate everyday for one good reason or another. There are more good....great people here than any other place I've found. To single one out would be a great disservice to so many others who do so much. Just my humble opinion

Please don't take it the wrong way Papa Bear.
I love the idea of honoring someone for their deeds.
I don't think anyone here does a deed for any other reason except that they think it's the right thing to do.
There are enough people that need honoring here that if we honored 100 people a year we wouldn't live long enough to do justice.
We just have to accept that there are people like that left in the world and that most of them reside on TRADGANG!

I am proud and honored just to be a small part of this.

A perfect example of this is the upcoming St. Judes auction.
How in the world could I pick one person to be honored for all of this.
Again, I love the thought and idea, I just don't know how?

I agree with Ragin Bull and Snag. Too many to select just one. Keep in mind there are people on here who do good works everyday and no one knows about it and they do not talk about it.
