bears with my Daddy's bow
«

Funny how certain compound companies make fun of hunting with "your Daddy's bow" but here on TG most people support tradition and love to see "that old closet bow" come out and bring some meat home.
I'm fortunate to have a bow from my father which he killed his very 1st bear with 37 years ago this week. The bow is a 1971 Red Wing Hunter that will be bear hunting once again this week. I've been waiting for the right opportunity to kill a bear with it and this Thursday my father will be joining me for a hunt at what I call "the worlds best bear bait"! Dad will be armed with a video camera and me with the Wing....stay tuned!!!

That's amazingly cool!!
I wish my dad had got into bowhunting earlier. I got him going only two years before he passed. Managed to take two blacktail deer in those years though.
Good Luck with your daddys bow.

That really puts the "tradition" in traditional bowhunting.

Wish I could have killed something with my Grandfather's mid 1940's custom recurve before IDIOT cousin dry fired it and cracked the limbs.
I hope next year to kill a turkey with my father's shotgun-he never got one in 60 years with it.
Best of luck in your quest.

I've seen many pictures and video's from Ryan's honey hole, no small bruins on this man's wall. This will be a great thread to watch. Good luck buddy, make that Wing and your Dad proud.
