Another new guy
« on: May 03, 2007, 01:04:00 PM »
Hello Everyone!
I have been looking at this website for about 6 months. I have to say that the people on Trad-Gang are some of the most helpfull and genuine folk's on this planet. You all really got me hooked and I thank you for that. I have learned more about traditional hunting than I ever dreamed could be possible. About 1 month ago I sold my very high tech wheelie bow that has blessed me with many a whitetail, I sold it so I would not have the temptation of ever using it again. After doing extensive research on all the magnifacint Bows and Bowyer's that all of you recommend I came to a desision. I picked up the phone and called Horne's Archery. I was suprised when MR. Mark Horne himself answered the phone. Talk about a person that can put you at ease and make you feel like you have known him your entire life. Long story short I have a new Mountain bow cocobola and bacote on order along with 1 dozen cx heritage arrows. Mark told me about 12 weeks so I only have about 8 weeks left.I am sure that in the future after I receive my bow I will have tons of questions for all of you. I am 48 years old but I feel like a kid again starting out on a wonderfull journey. Once again thank you all for getting me hooked into this new adventure. ( Little Feather I am saving my pennies for a Texas hunt)

Welcome! I was just online admiring those Horne bows. Very nice.

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

Alright!  You're not just dipping in your toe to test the water - you jumped right in!  And picked a great bowyer to start with too!

Now you gotta get to Town Hall archery in Belleville, Il on Sat morn about 9 to 11. A bunch of trad shooters there. Also if the weather is decent I usually play golf on Wed nites at Triple Lakes in Columbia and then go to Mainstreet bar for 1.25 longneck night.
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Thank you all very much. I am overwhelmed by the welcome I have received. I hope to one day meet all of you in person and share a campfire on a hunt or at a trad shoot. ( John Krause I sent you an e-mail.) Just starting out so I know there is a lot to learn and I am sure a lot of practice on my part. I look forward to the whole experience.

Ken
