56 inch Kanati, anyone shoot one?

i have a bow on order from Jason which is 56 inches #48@28 and was wondering if anyone is shooting one of similiar spec's? deceided on the 56 after talking with Jason who said there would not be much difference at all between the 56 and 58 inch. i hunt out of treestands a lot and would love a short longbow to turkey hunt so went with the 56. was kind of worried about stacking with such a short bow but believed in Jason to say it wouldn't be a problem. on a side not Jason is a great guy to deal with and will answer any question you throw at him by both phone and computer, was allways available when i had a question!

Couldn't agree more, he is one Helluva dude.
I shoot 51# @ 28" 58" Kanati and it is sweet. Also thought about getting a 56"er, but decided to be safe and go with the 51#. But I were to drop to the 48# range as your bow is, I think I would definately have went with the 56" liek you are.
Either way, it will be a shooter.

i liked the idea of the 56 as i have 2 Shrews both 58 inches. all my other bows are 60-64 inches. i had in mind and easy, light bow to carry, stump shoot and possibly turkey hunt. i do not use a blind so i am shooting from the knee and a 56 just seems like the ticket. guess i'm just a little nervous about stacking with such a short bow.

Whats your DL. Jason won't steer ya wrong. I pull my 58"er to 29 and it is fine. My other bows are 64" mild r/d. I have tons of room with the 58 in my blind.

Hey Ken! I just got a "new to me" 56" Kanati from this site. She is 51# @ 27". My 26" draw puts her at 48#. What a dream she is to shoot! Quiet, quick, accurate... I'm a happy camper buddy! :D You will be too.

If you draw 28" you will be just fine. My cousin has an earlier JK bow with the same limb design (slightly different grip) that is 56" and 52# @ 28". I draw 28" and I have shot that one quite a bit. There is NO stack. It feels lighter than 52#, but the bow scale confirms it is on the money. At 48#, your bow should be smooth as silk!
If Jason told you it will work, you can bank on it! You won't find anyone with more integrity than Jason Kendall.
When do you expect the bow to be finished? What woods did you pick?

Mike, good for you bro!!!!!! whats your set up for it?

Tonight I shot a 27" 2016 with a 200gr. Hammer Head and she was right on. Figure a 200gr Razorcap would do the trick for deer. Saturday morning I'll try my favorite woodie combo... 27 1/2" 11/32, (50-55) with a 160gr VPA Terminator up front. Hunting and wood arrows go together like white on rice.

Ken,
You won't have any problem shooting through deer with your 48# Kanati. My 46# does the trick with no problem. I'll look forward to some pictures come August...and some hero shots this fall!

I'd like to shoot the 56" but at my 29.5" draw I'm a bit apprehensive.
I do have a 60" coming sometime this summer...green camo limbs with Charcoal DymondWood riser.
Can't wait...I’ve heard great things about them.

Yup, Josh, I'd stay with 58" or more with a 29.5" draw. At 60" you have a good safety factor built in, yet the bow should be short enough to be handy.
I like the 58" because I'm built rather low to the ground. I almost ordered a 56", but I don't regret my decision a bit.
Are your limbs this camo:
Or this one:
The top one is my 52# and the bottom is my son Dave's 51# Kanati.

The first one...I believe Jason calls it the cross-cut camo.

Jason makes an excellent product!
My 29"+ draw is very smooth with the 60" KANATI, but I am thinkin' I would like to shoot one of the shorter ones. According to his recommendation though, 58" may be as short as I can go.
Shoot straight, Shinken

Nice bows. If the LH 58" Kanati with flat grain camo I sold a while back comes up I am going to buy it back. Very nice bow at a reasonable price.

Mine is a 52#@28" 56". I only draw 23" but the hubby draws it to a full 28" with no stack at all. I love my bow.
Ken- 48# Kanati will more than do the job on a deer. I pull around 40# and put a whitetail down last season with no problem at all.
I agree with 30coupe, they pull light. I feel like mine is way lighter than 52#. But just as coupe said, the scale proves it is on the money! I love that she pulls easy when it is super cold out. Nothing worse than having a great deer in front of you after 3 hours in the stand and you can't get your bow back to full draw cause you are cold and stiff! With the Kanati I don't have that problem! Great bow.
