AD Trad Lite Shooters?
« on: May 21, 2010, 04:27:00 PM »
I shoot the AD Trad Lites with 145gr up front. They fly pretty straight but, I'm thinking of going up to 175gr to ensure deeper penetration. I have not yet tried my arrows with this weight so, I'm wanting to know if this will weaken the spine to much? What weight do ya'll shoot with your AD Trad Lites? My setup will be:

Bow: 64", 50# @ 29"

Arrows: 29.5 bop

With my AD's they seem pretty tolerant of point weight changes I have changed to point weight on my AD's by 50 grs. and they still hit with each other.Go ahead and try them and see how they fly for you.

TW, no problems here 125-200. Above and below I didn't get the flight I liked. I shoot shorter bows with the same weight and length specs as you. They don't penetrate near as good as my buddies GT's though. Thinking of trying some AXIS shafts again.

29" arrow, 250-300 gr. up front, 45-50 lb bows.  terrific flight.  I can get by with 145 to 200 also, just like the heavier arrow.  Very forgiving, so you should have no problem.

Thanks everyone. That's what I was hoping for. Gonna give it a try and hopefully this will work out for my setup this hunting season.

I shoot 48 - 55 on most of my bows @ 28", cut mine to 28 1/2, standard insert, 145-175 point weight.  They fly well for me too.

I also shoot 50# i have shot 200grns up front and they shot fine.I dropped back to 145grns and they shoot fine and penetration is not a issue.I think the fps for me out weighed.KE is equal. If you do the math.I just like the 145grns.up front.I think you will too.
