Nock question?
« on: May 21, 2010, 09:11:00 PM »
What is the best orientation for nocks when shooting for fletch? Or does it matter? Thought it might for feather clearance. Just thot I'd ask. Thanks in advance.

I dont shoot four fletch but I think if you position it vertical to the center of the fletchings it would be good  :|: this way they will strike the plate evenly.IMO

90 deg. to the widest span between the fletching. The fletcher will determin that. My jo-jan seems good when fletching 4 fletch. Just my 2 cents. My wife says I have no cents. Does this make cents?

Some bows seem to "like" cock-feather IN; others cock-feather out; and still others, cock-feather straight up.

I've experimented with all 3 and with my set-up: I get the best results with the cock-feather up at 12 o'clock position.

I've never had a problems with shooting cock feather out. All the spacing between my three, 5" parabolic feathers is 120 degrees.

For 90 degree four fletch, I position my feathers so when your looking at the nocked arrow from the rear, the fletching form an "X".

Me too Smallwood. I get great arrow flight and the other thing is you don't have to worry about how you nock the arrow.
