SHRIVER FLAME CRESTER

Is the shriver flame crester still being made? Does it work as good as the picture in the add would have you believe? Nice crisp images? Ive meant to get one of these for a while now but never did. Hope I didnt miss my chance.

If you are talking about the one you use with a small propane torch you have to really watch the heat.  It is easy to get it to hot and burn the arrow where the template touchs the shaft. They say to have  a wet rag to cool the template after each burn. A lot depends on how you have the torch adjusted also. Hope this helps.

I've got a post on here somewhere showing some arrows I've done with a flame crester. It's all I use to decorate my arrows. Like anything, it takes practice to be able consistently burn a nice image. I've been using my set for 10 years now.

Thanks for the repies. Anyone know if their still making them? When I try to get to thge shriver website I get a messaage that it doesnt exist.

Shriver Archery usually has an ad in TBM. There's a phone number on the ad. The guy lives in Greenwood, MO if I remember correctly.
