Kenny what in the heck is that back design? Don't even tell me you painted that on there.

Too cool!

BTW 1/4" dowels make great arrows for those little bows.

very pretty, way to get your kid into it early. It's always great to see a father (or mother, or grandfather/grandmother) and child make a strong bond and grow to love nature together. Good job and good luck 4runr.

Wow! what a great project. What did your son say when you finished the bow and gave it to him?

He said "Dad can I have a snake skined osage selfbow next?"....lol...

Mickey, no I did not paint that on.

Here's a quick how-to. Do a Google search for native american belt patterns. Choose the one you want, print it, size it to your desired size. Then you simply copy as many as it takes for the length of the bow, glue it on, then spray on the finish of your choice.

Can you say CheatR bow backing (to barrow a name from our original CheatR)...lol....

I finally got his arrows finished last night, he's been shootin them without tips, but, yesterday after the glue set up he shot this group. Pretty good for a beginner I think.

He's kinda proud of his bow and he makes sure everyone who stops by knows about it.

Thanks for all the nice comments everybody. The best part about it is, every day he asks to shoot and it keeps me shootin too. He now tells me he would rather shoot his bow than any other activity he had been interested in. Gotta love that!!
