Elle's new Maddog Pup - Thanks again Vermonster13
« on: June 01, 2010, 11:06:00 PM »
Mods, I'm not sure why some of my pics are so big, I did resize them all on photobucket. Hope my post is ok.

Yesterday a package arrived for my 5 year old daughter Elle.  She was excited but said she could wait until I got home from work to open it. I didn't tell her about winning the bow (I wanted it to be a surprise). I asked her what she thought it was and she guessed a bow (because the box was so long). Smart kid.

She was eager to get her package open and so was her little sister Nya.

However, Nya was more interested in the wrappings.

It tooks some doing but Elle managed to get her bow and arrows unwrapped.

She was pretty excited and said she loved the rainbow colours (well green, brown, grey & black anyway).

Here she is showing off her new "Rainbow" Pup custom recurve from Maddog Archery, it is 19# at 21" and has a beautiful laminated riser with maple limbs. I'm a little jealous at this point.

We went outside for a quick picture of my two little archers before it was bedtime.

Well, tonight we had a chance to shoot the new bow after installing some cat whiskers (which Elle thought were pretty cool). Mom took a quick picture of us all before Nya had to go to bed.

And finally we got down to shooting.

She already has better form than her Dad (doesn't take much).

After a quick lesson and a little help from Dad to steady the bow and keep the arrow from falling off the rest, Elle had a pretty decent group (first four shots)

Thank you again Dave, Jake and Mike at Maddog Archery for the gift of this new bow for Elle. I am hopeful that it will spur her on to a love of archery (I'm not holding my breathe for bow hunting), as well as bring our family closer together as we share this great activity. God bless you and your family, I know he has blessed me with mine.

P.S. Elle is planning to draw a "Thank you" picture for Jake Tomorrow.

I'd say that bow found a good home indeed. Thank you for the wonderful pics of your beautiful family. I hope it puts her on a lifelong trail myself.

I'm lucky enough to be friends with Earl and his family and can say I don't know a more deserving, kind hearted guy to win something for his daughter. It's refreshing to meet people like Dave, Jake, and Mike (even though it's only online). My son Maddox also owns a pup and can now be joined by his friend Elle at the archery range as the 2 coolest kids around. I love threads like this!!!...Ryan

WAY TO GO !! What the future brings we can't know, but this looks like a great start to a lifelong love of archery. Nice work, Earl. Love the little bow.
A new club here, all wheelie guys with me the lone trad is talking about some bows for kids with some funds from a shoot we're putting on, I better get a few of these added to the inventory.

That's awesome man, I'm sure that she'll cherish this bow for many years & especially being able to be like her daddy.   :clapper:    :archer2:

Sky Sky Hawk Recurve: 60" 47# @ 27.5".

Without these kids there is no future for archery. Great to see it passed on. Thanks!

Awesome! I've got to order one of these for my little girl.

Is 3 1/2 weeks old too young?
