I'm posting this on behalf of my buddy Mike who not only wouldn't take the time to do so, but is too humble to even tell people he killed a bear with a longbow.
Mike has bowhunted for a while now and began to show an interest in Trad. bows this past year. He gravitated towards longbows and after shooting my Caribow Wolverine was in the market for a longbow. Mike and I work in the same Firehall and Mike does concrete work on the side. In the market for a concrete countertop, I offered Mike a trade.....longbow for counter...and he bit.
Mike is one of those guys that just seems to be good at everything...and watching him shoot the Cari-bow the 1st time verified that. Seriously, after a few pointers Mike was shooting 4 inch groups at 20 yards consistently.
Fast forward to spring, Mike decided to hunt with the longbow and his first shot ever with a trad. bow downed this solid 7 foot blackie with a perfect shot.
Congrats to my new "Trad" addict and sorry that I made you blush by posting this......not really!
Pix to come!
