About average for a nice D bow.

Fast enough. But that's not why I'd get one. They are very stable and shoot nice. Mine loves a heavy arrow as well. I know Marty makes a nice one as well, I just haven't been able to shoot one.

I don't have a Chrony & probably never will, of the 6 Mohawks I've had, they were all plenty quick, that being said, this Osage & Boo Mohawk is somethin special, very quick, super quiet & just feels GOOD ... Im sure you'll be happy ...

One more thing, I've never had a L/B that just loves Heavy arrows like this one, Im gettin 59#-60# on this 66''er and approaching 650 grn. shafts & it loves em ... with no noticeable loss in speed ... Maybe the Osage, I don't know, but she's a shooter for sure ... Good Luck ...

One of these days I'll get to try one.  Heard nothing but great things.  I'm slowly, but surely, getting less concerned with speed.  But that isn't the topic of this thread.

Last but not least, it's gettin late & Im gettin tired, but, I've had a "few" high end Hybrid's all within the same wt# as this Mohawk, and I can honestly say this L/B is quicker & a whole lot nicer shootin, but than I like em long & "D" shape, that says alot for this style of bow, OK, now Im done ...

Don't know much about actual speed, but mine is relatively quick for a D-shaped bow.

I sent you a Pm.

I would say its as quick as any mild R and D bow around except maybe a Black Swan double carbon.Ofcourse the Mohawk has no carbon. Its plenty quick!

imho, some thoughts ...

mohawks have the right blend of speed and stability.

speed don't kill, well placed sharp broadheads do.  this is not at all to say that 'hawks are 'slow'.  one thing for sure, they love heavy arrows.

carbon in the limbs don't make for a faster bow.  carbon is a more environmentally stable material than fiberglass.  i see no overriding reason for using carbon in the limbs of hunting stick bows (and i've owned and shot more than a few carbon limbed longbows, both straight and r/d).

ymmv.
