I retired in 2007, and I have no problem keeping busy. Gives me a lot more time to hunt and fish. Enjoy your new found freedom!

I have been out for almost 3 years, it's a wonderful thing. I shoot most days, a few arrows in the AM,some in the PM unless I go fishing or riding my motorcycle or Kayak'n or work in the garden or do some wood carving or cook for my wife or ride my bicycle or....well you get the idea!!!!! Enjoy, life is short, make the most of it!!!
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Congratulations!

I retired from my first career in 2007 after 28.5 terrific short years.  I'll probably hang around this one for 5-6 more.

I retired on May 2. I'm still trying to get used to the idea. I shoot a few arrows each day. I went to the NC Traditional Archery Championships over Memorial Day and have my reservations made for ATAR. I have an elk hunt in Colorado in September. Other than that I'm going to do a few things around the house and spend some time with the grandkids, while waiting for deer season. Oh yeah, I may do a little fishing.

Life is good!!

I retired last month and can say two of my favorite things so far are not rushing my practice sessions and applying to deer/elk/antelope/turkey draws in crummy areas (but with high draw odds) because I am planning my hunts without time constraints.  Now I just need to get drawn.

I had 25 years to go, but then Obama was elected.  So now I'm either gonna have to work till I'm 119, or just go on the welfare books, and have all of you pay for me to enjoy all my free time to shoot as much as I want.

Enjoy you retirement, and thank you for being a productive member of society.  My hat is off to you.

Thanks again for the great response. I think Monday morning, my first target I will shoot at is going to be my alarm clock. I should have no problem picking a small spot on that! Bob
